Chevrolet Corvette C7 debuts in the Automotive World!

On the 13th of January at 7:00 PM EST, General Motors finally revealed the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 to the public at the Detroit Auto Show.

At first sight, it's refreshingly new, both on the exterior and the interior, and also somewhat retro.  Sharp lines depart from the smooth C5 and C6, bringing back memories of the third generation Stingray.  The headlights though, while still exposed like the C6, look too much like the new (and very ugly) Dodge Viper's headlights. And the rear, while one of the best rears ever on a car, is crowned with the fifth generation Camaro's taillights, which is sacrilege to a Corvette.

But, it's not just the overall silhouette that still maintains with previous Corvettes.

It's powered by a 6.2 Liter V8 Engine producing 450 Horsepower in the front, which is enough to say this is a Corvette.  No funny mid-engine or rear-engine dreams made their way to the official C7.  It's also a good thing that stupid Transformers dream "Stingray" didn't find a way to ruin the C7 either.

It's a true Corvette alright.

The interior has received quite a rebuild, now made of carbon fiber and soft plastics to gain favor in the eyes of spoiled kids with Lamborghinis, Porsches, and Volkswagen Beetles- I mean Bugatti Veyrons.  The dashboard is said to resemble that of a jet fighter, which makes me think of a Hummer H2 with a jet throttle shift lever.  But that's a truck, this is an American sports car.

Production is expected to begin much later this year, like around October-September-November.  But I don't know how many people will be able to wait that long to get their hands on a new, shiny, beautiful Corvette.
